“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”… When I first heard this quote by Babe Ruth, I missed the point, and I am sure I am not alone.
Now, as I get older and more knowlegeable, I get it! I am not sure where Babe got his motivation, but I can assure you that it resonates with me.
Recognizing that quitting or backing off from endeavors can become a recurring pattern is essential. Learning not to fear failure is a skill we all must learn.
“I once worked with a colleague who consisteknowledgeable, any form of recognitions, accolades, and promotions citing self-doubt and not good enough.  Watching him miss out on valuable opportunities highlighted how a pessimistic mindset can truly stifle growth.”
I used to have a strong desire for perfection in all aspects of my life, and I must admit, it is toxic!
However, I realized that if one waits for things to be ‘perfect,’ they will be perpetually waiting. And believe me, waiting for things to be perfect is akin to anticipating rainfall during a drought; it’s useless and disappointing.
When I feel apprehension, I remind myself to focus on taking the next small step rather than being overwhelmed by the enormity of the task. Never let the anxiety of the future make you lose yourself and forget the present.
You will discover something about yourself that will aid your growth and help you become the best version of yourself, but only if you try not to quit! Don’t let the fear of not being perfect get the best of you. If a recluse like me can step outside her comfort zone and put herself out there, you can do it, too! The journey of personal growth is rewarding and inspiring, and it’s waiting for you to take the first step. Remember, the first step is often the toughest and most important. Take it, and the rest will follow. Persevere, and you will see the results.
Please remember that you only need to prove yourself to yourself. This is your journey, your game, and your victory. Therefore, do not let the apprehension of novel experiences or lofty expectations prevent you from participating in the game of life. You have the power to define your success and are more than capable of achieving it. Some people support and understand you. Embrace your story, and let that be your strength.
When fear comes knocking, meet it with a smile and say, “Hey, give me your best shot. I’m ready!” You are brave, and I encourage you to attempt to face any challenge. Embrace your jitters, and let it kindle your determination to succeed.  You have the power to become fearless and achieve your goals.
