People want to lead for many reasons. Some want power. Others seek riches. Many have been driven by an ideology or a desire to change the world. The only worthy motivation for leadership is a desire for servanthood. The desire to lead is imminent.

You must check your motives if you want to lead others but are unwilling to serve people. If you embrace servanthood, you will become a better leader, help your team, help the people your team serves, and improve the world.

Every leader must make purpose a part of his values.

Success comes from discovering your purpose in life, growing to your maximum potential, and ensuring they benefit others. You can’t be genuinely successful if you miss any of those three things.

You can not fully achieve the second and third parts without discovering the first. You can’t grow to your potential if you don’t know your purpose. And if you don’t know why you’re on this earth and cannot improve in that purpose to the best of your ability, you’ll be very limited in how you can help others.

Once you understand your purpose, you must prioritize your life according to that purpose. If you don’t, you’ll continually get off track and may never feel fulfillment and completion.

All individuals and leaders must decide what value they will embrace and live for.

What’s yours going to be?
